On this week's OUT OF THE BAG...LIVE on https://healingoracle.ch/healing-oracle-radio/
In the first hour I will play a pre recorded interview with Jimmy Furey. In his own words, "I live in Kingston, Tasmania originally Castlegar, Galway. I printed off Australia's first edition of : Ireland 1845-1850 The Perfect Holocaust And Who Kept It Perfect By Chris Fogarty. I also research a lot of old Irish History books that have been kept suppressed from Irish people."
An hour is too short for so much information; but hopefully this won't be the last interview!

In the 2nd hour I will play another precorded interview with Walter Graham. Walter was my first EVER guest on OUT OF THE BAG and is still campaigning all these years later! This time over The Mobuoy Road Dump site which is one of the biggest illegal landfill sites in all of Europe. Local community activists and environmental campaigners have been campaigning for it to be cleaned up in full since it was first discovered in 2012/2013. Operation Sycamore.
Campaigners are also calling for a public inquiry into the site to bring to light the many failings of government departments here and in particular the Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs and the NIEA who is currently responsible for the sites remediation. At a recent public meeting held in February 2020 the NIEA stated that their preferred option for remediating the site is to 'cap and contain' and then monitor on a weekly basis for the next 30 years!
Given the close proximity to the River Faughan (which is protected under European Law) campaigners are calling for all waste to be removed from the site. It's our belief that the NIEA do not want to do this due to the higher costs involved.
There are a number of heavy metals present in the dump and leaching into the river however NI Water assures the public that once the water passes through the filtering and screening process that the water is safe to drink.
60% of Derry City & Strabane District Council's drinking water is supplied from the River Faughan via the Carmoney Water Treatment facility.
The Mobuoy Dump issue is now a permanent feature of the monthly meeting of Derry City and Strabane District Council's Environment & Regeneration committee (Agendas and Minutes of the meetings can be found on the council's web-site). A packed hour touching on other subjects as well.
For Rebellion hour this week I will play a pre recorded interview with the great Peter Jones from Paranoid Visions/LeeHarveys/F.O.A.D, etc. A difficult time for bands everywhere and it was great to hear Peter's take on things and how much he is still doing!
